HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ohio — Highland Heights police are investigating allegations of misconduct against a Mayfield City Schools District employee.

Police and the school district declined to name the employee at the center of the investigation.

Highland Heights police Chief James Cook said the suspected misconduct happened Saturday and his department received a complaint that night.

In a statement, the school district said the misconduct happened on social media toward students.

“As soon as district officials were made aware of the alleged claims, Highland Heights police were contacted to initiate an investigation,” the statement said. “Mayfield City Schools staff and administration are cooperating fully with police as the investigation continues.”

The school district said it will not release any more details about the matter at this time as the police investigation continues.
