GREENDALE, Indiana — A motorcyclist got off his bike and repeatedly punched the driver of a convertible while both were at an intersection, resulting in the car’s driver losing consciousness moments later and crashing, police say.
Police are now trying to locate the motorcyclist and determine what precipitated the attack, which occurred just before 6 p.m. Sunday near the entrance of Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. The attack was recorded on video.
Officers were called to a traffic accident about a half-mile from where the attack occurred, police say. The victim, a man estimated to be about 68-70 years old, passed out and veered across the center line, hitting a pickup truck, WLWT Channel 5 reports.
Greendale police Cpl. Pam Taylor tells WLWT the victim was “disoriented” after the incident and wasn’t released from the hospital until late Sunday night.
According to WCPO Channel 9, witnesses say the motorcyclist had changed lanes several miles earlier and nearly hit the victim’s vehicle. The victim and motorcyclist then were involved in a road-rage incident, WCPO reports.
The suspect reportedly is about 40 years old, about 6-foot-1, 230 pounds, and had a mustache. A woman wearing a red helmet also was on the motorcycle.
Greendale is located just west of Cincinnati.
