Marchant Manor Cheese Shop will hold a tasting at its Lee Road shop in Cleveland Heights this Saturday.

The tasting is 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 25.

At least a dozen handmade artisanal cheeses will be served across four tasting stations from Marchant Manor Elmstead Ash and High Heaven to artisanal domestic Gouda cheeses, artisanal Ohio, domestic Cheddars and a variety of blue-cheese styles.

The shop’s curated in-house collection includes cow, goat, sheep and mixed-milk cheeses.

Owner Kandice Marchant turned to cheese after a medical career. She served as medical director of the blood-coagulation laboratory at the Cleveland Clinic and was appointed chair of the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Institute. She became the first woman at the Clinic to head a clinical institute.

Staffers will be on hand to explain the various types, techniques and aging process of the cheese at the walkabout tasting.

Cheeses will be accompanied by freshly baked baguettes, charcuterie, fruit, nuts and wines. The shop has tables along with a patio.

Cost is $40. Reserve online.

Marchant Manor Cheese Shop is at 2211 Lee Road, Cleveland Heights.
