Two Lebanese cabinet ministers were seen throwing rocks toward Israeli territory during a border-area tour reported by local media on Tuesday.
The clip was broadcast by Al-Jadeed TV,according to the Middle East Media Research Institute .
During the border tour, in which eight Lebanese ministers took part, Energy Minister Walid Fayad and Social Affairs Minister Hector Hajjar were seen hurling rocks toward the border.
Both are linked to Lebanese President Michel Aoun’s Free Patriotic Movement.
Fayad is a regular interlocutor with US envoy Amos Hochstein, who is seeking to broker a maritime agreement between Israel and Lebanon.
Egged on by others at the scene, Hajjar commented at one point that “practice makes perfect,” according to a translation by MEMRI.
Fayad then told Hajjar: “Step aside, so I won’t hit your head.”
After a throw that failed to cross the border, Hajjar quipped: “Almost. It still needs more thrust, a little bit of practice.”
