Former Ohio high school ROTC instructor faces dozens of drug, sex charges

FAIRBORN, Ohio — A former high school ROTC instructor accused of sex crimes involving a juvenile student is now facing more than 80 criminal charges, according to reports.

Eriks Fricsons, 52, was indicted Friday on on 40 counts of sexual battery and 40 counts of pandering sexual oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person, WHIO Channel 7 reports. Fricsons also is charged with two counts of corrupting another with drugs and one count of illegal cultivation of marijuana.

Fricsons is a former ROTC instructor at Fairborn High School, but he resigned after he was arrested earlier this month, WDTN Channel 2 reports. Officials with the school district tell WDTN they are cooperating with the investigation.

According to WHIO, incidents involving Fricsons date back to April 2021 and involve a juvenile student at the high school. No further details have been reported.

WHIO reports that authorities searched Fricsons’ home and found about 50 firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition. Fricsons is being held in jail.
