A 55-year-old worker at Hoban High School was taken to a hospital after he was knocked to the ground when a male suspect stole a pickup truck from school grounds, police say.
The worker was loading items onto the 2002 Chevrolet S-10 just before 8:30 a.m. Saturday, according to police. When the worker stepped away for a moment, an unidentified male walked up and got inside the truck.
The suspect put the truck in reverse and knocked the victim to the ground, then drove off the with the vehicle, police say.
The school worker was taken to Summa Health Akron City Hospital after suffering injuries to his head, neck, and back, police say.
The victim’s pickup is maroon in color with an Ohio license plate of JNV-2878. The vehicle has not been recovered. The suspect was last seen wearing all blue clothing and was carrying a backpack.
