AKRON, Ohio — An 18-year-old male is in a hospital in serious condition after he was shot multiple times in the East Akron neighborhood, police say.
Officers were called to the 1100 block of Chesapeake Drive at about 2:40 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators say the teen was shot by an unknown suspect, who ran from the scene with several other males. Police are still trying to determine a motive for the shooting.
The victim had been put into the back of a vehicle and driven away before officers arrived. The vehicle with the victim inside was found moments later in a parking lot on the 1200 block of South Arlington Street in the Firestone Park neighborhood.
